Outreach Services Manager JOB PURPOSE Plan and coordinate Library system-wide public programs and promotional events.
Work with the Leadership Team and staff to ensure programs meet Library goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, coordinate, evaluate, and present system-wide programs and events for all ages and all locations which reflect the goals of LPCPL.
Ensures staff follow processes established in the Program Planning Guidelines.
Tracks event budget to ensure expenditures remain within the budget.
Secures and coordinates appearances by outside presenters/speakers authors, etc.
Includes arranging presenter travel to and from La Porte, lodging, and transportation as needed.
Develops and maintain partnerships/relationships with area museums, government agencies, businesses, and city parks and recreation departments to provide a broader range of programs Coordinates PR and marketing for events and workshops with the Libraries' Communications Team; includes the development of displays in Library locations.
Conducts and coordinates assessments of Library programs and events including evaluation of outside program providers.
Works with appropriate staff to evaluate and recommend plans to improve program services.
Maintains detailed event schedules, including internal and external event calendars, and communication platforms, to ensure communication of events.
Coordinates with Maintenance and IT staff to ensure any assistance needed from those staff is planned for appropriately.
Acts as a liaison between the Purchasing Agent and LPCPL staff to obtain event materials, including catering.
Performs additional duties in support of Community Events and Outreach Partnerships Directly supervises 2 FTEs (Full Time Equivalency).
May provide first-level supervision for student interns.
Uses Library's HCM for recruiting, hiring, training, managing work schedules, communicating with staff, coaching, managing performance and service standards for staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS You have a Masters of Library Science degree and an Indiana Library Certification Level 3 or a willingness to obtain within 3 years of employment You have at least 5 years of progressive event planning experience You have flexibility to coordinate evening and weekend events within a 40-hour work week You have public speaking experience You use creativity and innovation in planning and conducting programs and events You use good judgement when making independent decisions You have the ability to organize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines You are comfortable and confident working in an environment with a variety of hardware devices and software products, and willingness to learn new technologies You are positive, adaptable, and forward thinking You have a valid Indiana driver's license PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Office environment; exposure to materials returned in unfavorable conditions, occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, odor, noise, heat and cold Mobility:
Frequently lifts and carries 10-50 pounds; occasionally pushes/pulls up to 50 pounds using cart; regularly sits to do work; occasionally stands, kneels, squats, bends, twists, grasps, and reaches above shoulders to move materials Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Must be able to respond to fire alarms, warning sirens, and phone pages.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
