La Porte is a 227-bed hospital providing acute care with strong programs in cardiology, orthopedics, surgical services, emergency care, oncology and maternal health.
As of October 2020, our new and improved La Porte location opened.
This location features the latest technology for our staff and providers.
Our hospital is La Porte's only stroke center and nationally accredited chest pain center.

Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceutical and nuclear medicine imaging equipment under the direction of a Radiologist at a technical level not requiring constant supervision; Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to utilize radionuclides for the diagnosis and therapy of disease in humans; Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required by:
performing patient services using radionuclides and nuclear imaging equipment, applying principles of radiation protection, evaluating images for technical quality, exercising professional judgment in performance of procedures, providing patient care essential to nuclear medicine procedures; Education:
Associate's degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or equivalent.
Licensure & Certification:
Successful completion of the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.
T.
(N)(ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CNMT(NMTCB) or registry eligible with successful completion of Registry exam within 6 months of employment required Licensed by the State of Indiana as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
May work under Radiology Student Permit for the first 6 months post-graduation.
